Camping and Hiking with Miko

Image
This past week and wknd I welcomed a beautiful girl, Miko, into our home to care for and provide all the daily activities a furry friend wanted and needed. Most importantly though, what a joy I got from watching this beautiful & sweet German Shephard pup for almost 6 days.

It is time to do the Rattlesnake training.

Spring is here ;) and the rattlesnakes are coming out of the hibernation. Please, train your dog to avoid these predators especially if you planning to go hiking, backpacking and camping. Or get a honey badger  ;) I signed Ava up for the next week-end at the Rattlesnake Clinic in Santa Clarita , before we'll start backpacking around in Cali (can't wait;) There are few other places that offer Rattlesnake  training for your dog. I also am going to have my dog, Rattlesnake vaccinated this week. The vaccine works, not necessarily protects your dog from, the snake venom, that travels through the bloodstream, destroying tissues and causing swelling, internal bleeding, and intense pain. However, the vaccine slows this toxic process getting to the bloodstream and tissues, and gives you and your dog more time to get to the vet and the appropriate care for your dog.

Spruce Grove- Backpacking & Camping trip

Image
Ava and I are back from our 1 night backpacking and camping at the Spruce Grove camp , located at the Angeles National Forest . It was an amazing first time experience, backpacking and camping! We did a pretty good job packing and could of stayed another couple of nights with all the food supplies and clothes that I carried. Plus the running creek along the trail and at the campsite would provide plenty of water to drink from (using water filter/pump recommended).

Happy Earth Day!!!

I love this earth and it's beautiful. Let's share this with love and respect, not just today, but everyday.                                         Peace! Ella ;) "The wealth of the nation is its air, water, soil, forests, minerals, rivers, lakes, oceans, scenic beauty, wildlife habitats and biodiversity… that’s all there is. That’s the whole economy. That’s where all the economic activity and jobs come from. These biological systems are the sustaining wealth of the world." ~Gaylord Nelson

I am proud to present to you, my masterpiece of a F&Awesome trip ;) Pismo Beach-ROCKS

Margo Dodd Park After “Camp, Golf and Vino” stop, we arrived to Pismo beach. This place got it all right: plenty of free parking, drive through the beach, park on the beach if you'd like & good surfing spot.

Did you know, The Btches were out at Griffith Park ;)
