Hiking With Dogs

It is believed that one of the benefits of dog ownership is that it helps to prevent heart disease and can lower blood pressure. Dog owners are more likely to go walking, running, and hiking with their dogs on a regular basis and therefore tend to get more exercise than people without a dog. Dog ownership can also help to fight depression and reduce stress. Owning a dog adds joy to you and your pup’s lives.

This hike in Palos Verdes area (near Malaga Dune Trail) is one of our favorite day hikes in the neighborhood.  The hiking trail starts near the old fire road and splits in few different directions. It offers the view of the beach and its beautiful coastline. We make it about 1-1.5 hours total round trip and cover about 3-3.5 miles total.

You know the saying “dogs are a man’s best friend?” Did you ever stop to think that this relationship benefits the dog and the man both? I think it does.
